COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
OIL GUN, PNEUMATIC
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item
description (CID) for all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE. This CID covers a hand-operated, pneumatic oil gun designed to produce degrees of
atomization from a fine spray or mist to a coarse spray of oil. The oil gun is designed for use in
spray application of oils to automotive, cleaning, degreasing, air dusting, lubricating oils,
spraying kerosene and other cleaning solvents.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.
2.1 Description. The oil gun shall be as shown in Figure 1 (see 6.4) and shall consist of a body
and handle assembly, a fluid container, a barrel assembly; and shall be the siphon feed type and
atomize the oils specified herein. Parts subject to wear, breakage or distortion shall be accessible
for adjustment, replacement, and repair.
