4.3 Market acceptability (MA). The contractor shall provide products which have a proven record based on the number of items sold, length of time the product has been on the market, and reliability and performance of the products as required under the contract or solicitation (see 6.2).
5. PACKAGING
5.1 Preservation, packing and marking. Preservation, packing, and marking for- the desired level shall be as specified in the contract or order (see 6.2).

6.1 Address for obtaining copies of referenced documents. Copies of Federal Regulation Part 40 are available from The U.S. Government Printing Office, Washington, DC 20402.
6.2 Ordering data. Acquisition documents must specify the following:
a. Title, number, and date of this CID.
b. Issue of Department of Defense Index of Specifications and Standards (DoDISS) to be cited in the solicitation.
c. Marking requirements and quantity required.
d. Applicable level of preservation, packing and marking.
e. Market acceptability requirements must appear in the solicitation.
6.3 Cross-referenced data. Oils guns conforming to this CID are interchangeable/substitutable with oil guns conforming to MIL-O-14559C.
4.4 Information figure. Figure 1 shows a type of oil gun which has been found acceptable; however, the figure is included for illustration only and is not intended to prevent the furnishing of another oil gun which conforms to this CID.
