COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
PUMP, BUCKET, LUBRICATION, HAND-OPERATED
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description (CID) as a replacement for MIL-P-13218 for all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE. This CID covers hand-operated portable bucket pumps furnished with a cover and locking device which fits and dispenses grease or oil from bulk or a standard 35-pound bucket container.
2. CLASSIFICATION. The pumps shall be of the following types (see 7.3): Type I - Grease
Type II - Oil
3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.
3.1 Design and construction.
3.1.1 Type I. Type I pumps shall be furnished with a hand-operated pressure pump, 10-foot length, heavy duty 3/8-inch internal diameter (ID) hose, follower plate, T-handle type nozzle and other required components. (Typical use: automotive, farm, construction type greases.)
3.1.2 Type II. Type II pumps shall be furnished with a hand-operated pressure pump, 5-foot length, 1/2-inch ID hose, gooseneck type nozzle and other required components. (Typical use: SAE 75W, 80W-90, 140W gear lubricants, automatic transmission fluids and motor oils.)
