COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
OILER, HAND, RECTANGULAR, PUSH SIDES
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description (CID) Is Intended for use in preference to type IV of Federal Specification GGG-O-591.
Abstract. The rectangular, push sides, hand oiler shall be similar to figure 1 and shall consist essentially of a rectangular body, two washers, and a spout. The-body and spout shall be of cold-rolled steel or High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) materiel not less than 0.020-inch thick. The design shall be such that the spout may be attached in the conventional manner for dispensing oil or inverted and screwed into the body for storage. The oiler shall be leakproof regardless of the position of the spout. The oilers shall comply with the requirements of table I.

Salient characteristics.
1. Body. Portions of two of the vertical sides of the body shall be convex in a manner to eject oil from the oiler when pushed and to return to normal position when pressure is released. The opening in the top of the body shall be not less than 3/4 Inch in diameter and shall be provided with a bushing that is threaded to receive the threaded portion of the spout. Soldered seams are permissible in this type oiler.
